About IDS & BSI

The Immunology of Diabetes Society exists to bring together numerous strands of scientific endeavour to foster research related to the genetics and pathogenesis, prevention and cure of type 1 diabetes. The IDS International Congress acts as an international forum for scientific discussion of all aspects of the immunology of insulin-dependent diabetes, including studies of the genetics, immunology, prediction and prevention of the disease and of pancreatic transplantation, in animal models and humans.

The IDS scientific congress occurs every 18 months and the 16th International Congress of the International Diabetes Society will be held in London on 25 – 29 October 2018 in partnership with British Society for Immunology (BSI) , one of the oldest, largest and most active Immunology societies in the world and is the largest in Europe. The IDS international Congress is the foremost event dedicated to the combined fields of immunology and diabetes.
